This article is devoted for candidates who took the TSHOOT exam to share their experience. Please tell us what are your materials, the way you learned, your feeling and experience after taking the TSHOOT v2.0 exam… But please DO NOT share any information about the detail of the exam or your personal information, your score, exam date and location, your email…

Your posts are warmly welcome!

Exam’s Structure:

+ Some Multiple choice & drag drop questions
+ 2 Simlets
+ 15 lab-sim Questions with the same network topology (15 troubleshooting tickets or you can call it one “big” question). Each lab-sim is called a ticket and you can solve them in any order you like.

Topics of the lab-sims:

1- IPv6
2- OSPF
3- OSPFv3
4- Frame Relay
5- GRE
6- EtherChannel
7- RIPng
8- EIGRP
9- Redistribution
10- NTP
11- NAT
12- BGP
13- HSRP
14- STP
15- DHCP

The problems are rather simple. For example wrong IP assignment, disable or enable a command, authentication…

In each tickets you will have to answer three types of questions:

+ Which device causes problem
+ Which technology is used
+ How to fix it

When you press Done to finish each case, you can’t go back.

A demo of the TSHOOT Exam can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le10/tshoot_demo.html

Note:

+ In the new TSHOOTv2, you cannnot use the “Abort” button anymore. Therefore you cannot check the configuration of another ticket before completing the current ticket.

+ We have gathered many questions about TSHOOT exam and posted them at TSHOOT FAQs & Tips, surely you will find useful information about the TSHOOT exam there!

Below are the topologies of the real TSHOOT exam, you are allowed to study these topologies before taking the exam. It surely saves you some invaluable time when sitting in the exam room (Thanks rrg for sharing this).

    @SDS you’re welcome!

@eduard the test is a random pool of questions, the exam has 24 in total but typically you get 2 simlets, 9-12 tickets and 10-13 mcq/dnd.

You need to learn it all.

@last 3 posts. Don’t be so damn lazy and read all mqc from latest dump (108), practice the 17 tickets in this site and every sim you run into. You never know what Cisco may change.

    Pass with high score.
All from tut. All is valid.
Any Q contact me suhofruct.michel at gmail dot com

There was no IP NAT and NAT, only IP NAT. Don’t worry about it.

But i saw some bug in ticket may be… on R1 in configuration always no “ip ospf authentication message-digest” command. But it have ospf adjastency with R2… And client ping 10.1.1.1, but no auth command on R1… I have some confused.

Passed today 1000/1000. All from networktut premium member – thank you team.
Do not read all comments under tickets – just practice, practice and practice

► Multiple Choice Questions -> go through them – valid version updated on 13th-Nov-2019
    ► HSRP Sim
► BGP Sim – don need to write, copy run start > just check “sh run” after you have type the config
    ► Tickets:
    Ticket 7 – Port Security
    Ticket 13 – DHCP Helper-address
    Ticket 3 – BGP Neighbor
    Ticket 4 – NAT ACL
    Ticket 1 – OSPF Authentication
    Ticket 11 – Redistribution Route-map > enter ‘redistribute ospf 1 route-map OSPF_to_EIGRP’
Ticket 14 – EIGRP Passive Interface
    Ticket 6 – VLAN filter
    Ticket 17 – Switchport Encapsulation

    IPv6:
    Ticket 12 – IPv6 OSPF
    Ticket 15 – IPv6 GRE Tunnel
    ==========================================
Good strategy to remember for ipv6 tickets: on R2/R3: show ipv6 ospf neigh
    If there is only 1 neighbor listed for R2 and R3: 1+1 = 2 : R2 is your culprit
If there is only 1 neighbor listed for R2 and 2 for R3: 1+2 = 3: R3 is your culprit
If 2 neighbors are listed for R2/R3: 2+2=4: R4 is your culprit

    Good luck.

This is the method that I recompiled based on nullzero strategy. Please take it with a grain of salt as this works well for me, but May or May not work well on other people.

When you select the button “ticket” shows a brief description and tell you “some changes… now 2026::x:x can’t ping Loopback…” it says that is IPv6 ticket, the other tickets just say that can’t reach the server 209.65.200.241 (for IPv4)

this is NOT always true that’s why there is mixed comments about this again, it depends which test version you get I DID NOT have this text on my tickets how old r u that u don’t understand this? if u ping the .241 and u get !!!!! then its a IPV6 ticket read above posts here to figure out answers to IPV6

    Got my certification 1000/1000 !!!
    Thanks networktut.
    Also for the question :
Which two commands are used to choose uRPF drops? (Choose two)
    A. show ip interface B. show interface C. show ip cef D. show ip traffic E. show cef trafficAnswer: A D

Answer is : show ip interface and show ip traffic

The best way to Tshoot is on client ipconfig+ping to gateway 10.2.1.254
Then if the ping works , show ip route on DSW1 if you see the External Route 0.0.0.0/0 go through all the routers.

    if any question contact me one : {email not allowed}

@Maria @ally – I scored 1k today, see my comment to eduard just above yours.

You are failing because you are confusing the tickets or picking a slightly wrong answer.

My advice is to know the right answer and how to check it.

Most people appear to fail on NAT, port-sec and DHCP, there are different variations of the ticket, the NULLZERO strategy worked flawlessly for me.

You have only yourself to blame for failing. Study harder and learn the concept.

There is a way to differentiate those two tickets quite easily. Since I am in the 1000 point club, and you think I am a scammer, I will stop there and not share the answer with you. Good luck, and stop trolling people.
There are no “different versions” of the test. You are totally wrong, so stop telling people that there are. Everything is in Premium. Stop being cheap and just sign up for Premium.

Reg different versions of the test, complete bullshit. I’ve taken this exam 4 times in two different countries in the past three years.

I suspect that people don’t read the ticket just the scenario.

The scenario is the same for both ipv4 and ipv6, but the ticket bar has the problem description.

    1000 points club member here.

    1) The tickets pool is the same for everyone. It’s 12 MCQs, 2 simlets and 10 tickets out of a pool of 15 tickets, which is why you have to study them all. People failing in whatever area are not answering whatever ticket properly, that’s it.
    2) The exam interface is the same for everyone. To tell if a ticket is either IPv4 or IPv6 you just have to click on the “Ticket” button and read the description. It’s simple as that.

    February 17th, 2020

@Networktut – The site seems to be running VERY slow… Is this due to the number of users on the server in the last week of testing?? Is there a way to beef up speeds for the next week?
