Note: The last day to take this TSHOOT 300-135 exam is February 23, 2020. After this day you have to take new Enterprise exams to get new CCNP Enterprise certification. If you want to find out more about the new exams please visit here.

This article is devoted for candidates who took the TSHOOT exam to share their experience. Please tell us what are your materials, the way you learned, your feeling and experience after taking the TSHOOT v2.0 exam… But please DO NOT share any information about the detail of the exam or your personal information, your score, exam date and location, your email…

Your posts are warmly welcome!

Exam’s Structure:

+ Some Multiple choice & drag drop questions
+ 2 Simlets
+ 15 lab-sim Questions with the same network topology (15 troubleshooting tickets or you can call it one “big” question). Each lab-sim is called a ticket and you can solve them in any order you like.

Topics of the lab-sims:

1- IPv6
2- OSPF
3- OSPFv3
4- Frame Relay
5- GRE
6- EtherChannel
7- RIPng
8- EIGRP
9- Redistribution
10- NTP
11- NAT
12- BGP
13- HSRP
14- STP
15- DHCP

The problems are rather simple. For example wrong IP assignment, disable or enable a command, authentication…

In each tickets you will have to answer three types of questions:

+ Which device causes problem
+ Which technology is used
+ How to fix it

When you press Done to finish each case, you can’t go back.

A demo of the TSHOOT Exam can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le10/tshoot_demo.html

Note:

+ In the new TSHOOTv2, you cannnot use the “Abort” button anymore. Therefore you cannot check the configuration of another ticket before completing the current ticket.

+ We have gathered many questions about TSHOOT exam and posted them at TSHOOT FAQs & Tips, surely you will find useful information about the TSHOOT exam there!

Below are the topologies of the real TSHOOT exam, you are allowed to study these topologies before taking the exam. It surely saves you some invaluable time when sitting in the exam room (Thanks rrg for sharing this).

    Hello Guys,

Passed with 1000/1000 am soo happy am now CCNP fully.

focus on SAM strategy its all you need in the tickets, don’t cram.

Nov MCQ, HSRP and BGP simlet.

    All the best!

    February 12th, 2020

In BGP simlet, do I need to do write or copy running-config?

  5. noName
    February 12th, 2020

    @BGP

No need to do that for the BGP Sim. Just complete the required configuration to solve the problem presented to you and exit the config screen followed by Show ip bgp command to verify that the loopback interfaces of the other routers are display. make sure your show ip bgp results match the example Cisco presented to you.

    Hi Guys,

Nov MCQ only, BGP & HSRP Simlet. Be careful “ip nat inside” ticket cos can be ping from any devices expect from ASW. 10 Tickets. “sh int status” is not allowed but you can check port status with “sh int fa1/0/1 or 2”.

My strategy just is ping from R4 for IPv4 tickets and R1 from IPv6 tickets.

    Thank you networktut team!!!

Passed with 923. I got 76% in layer 2 techonologies. All the MCQ from Nov and simlets are valid. I think that i fail in the port-security ticket. The interface was UP/UP in the show interface command and not err-disable. Maybe it can be a bug but I am not sure.

Passed today with max score. Everything valid. Nov MCQ+two Simlets+tickets(3 of them about IPv6). Was not happy when in tickets they do not allow to use “sh run int xxx” commands on routers and switches. Had to use “sh run” instead all the time.

    Quick questions to all.
    1. From the Sam’s ping plan. what does APIPA mean?
    2. Where can I get NULLZERO’s plan?
    Thanks in advance.

  10. @Anonymous
    February 13th, 2020

APIPA means that same thing as it did when the concept was introduced in CCNA. If you don’t know it, please just Google it. Do not waste the time of the people here asking about those simple terms that everyone should know already.

…and I googled Nullzero, looked it up in FAQ page…people refer to it, but no pointer to explanation!

    Congratulations.

Which ticket questions did you take on your exam?

    @Clem
    Re Q 3
Just FYI, it’s a trick question.

There are 2 methods to protect the GRE tunnel using IPSec:
    1. Using crypto-map (old style), where the map is applied to the physical interface
    2. Protect tunnel interface using IPSec profile (new style).

The exam question mixes configuration of 2 approaches and hence it won’t work.

Therefore, the answer with all blanks makes sense, as the IPSec for the tunnel won’t establish.
In other words, the tunnel might come up, but there won’t be any encryption.

This is how ipsec SA would look like using working method 1 (Crypto map):
    11111111111111111111111111111111111111111
    R4#sh crypto ipsec sa

    interface: Serial2/0.34
Crypto map tag: KR-MAP, local addr 10.1.1.10

    protected vrf: (none)
    local ident (addr/mask/prot/port): (0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0/47/0)
    remote ident (addr/mask/prot/port): (0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0/47/0)
    1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111

This is how ipsec SA would look like using method 2 (protect tunnel using ipsec profile):
    222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222
    R4#sh crypto ipsec sa

    interface: Tunnel34
Crypto map tag: Tunnel34-head-0, local addr 10.1.1.10

    protected vrf: (none)
    local ident (addr/mask/prot/port): (10.1.1.10/255.255.255.255/47/0)
    remote ident (addr/mask/prot/port): (10.1.1.9/255.255.255.255/47/0)
    current_peer 10.1.1.9 port 500
    222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222

As you can see, both methods report using protocol 47 (GRE), however, note endpoint IP-s are different.
Credits to Keith Barker, I’ve used his GNS3 setup to lab this up and explain it to myself when I needed it.

    Hope this helps.

    Just passed today 1000/1000.
As I am one of those without real life experience I memorised answers and practised Labs from here.
No new answers. All as expected on exam. in exam Questions and tickets are random,
trust your memory. some questions were reworded but answers still same.
Thank you, god luck you all !

    Passed today with max score.

    1. Follow SAM’s ping Plan for Tickets. That is more than enough and works like a charm. Pay attention to the small notes in networktut answers(not the comments).

    2. BGP simlet- you have to type the commands in the router,
while HSRP case has 4 questions with answers and you have to choose the answers.

    3. MCQ’s of Networktut from Nov valid. I did study a ton of additional qns from different sources. Turned out I didn’t have to.

    4. Not a premium member.

Do not pay attention to other comments here confusing you with different answers.

Familiarize your selves with the tickets and follow SAM or NullZero’s ping plan.

TIP: On page 644, Good_Stuff laid out a nice plan….
