Your posts are warmly welcome!

Exam’s Structure:

+ Some Multiple choice & drag drop questions
+ 2 Simlets
+ 15 lab-sim Questions with the same network topology (15 troubleshooting tickets or you can call it one “big” question). Each lab-sim is called a ticket and you can solve them in any order you like.

Topics of the lab-sims:

1- IPv6
2- OSPF
3- OSPFv3
4- Frame Relay
5- GRE
6- EtherChannel
7- RIPng
8- EIGRP
9- Redistribution
10- NTP
11- NAT
12- BGP
13- HSRP
14- STP
15- DHCP

The problems are rather simple. For example wrong IP assignment, disable or enable a command, authentication…

In each tickets you will have to answer three types of questions:

+ Which device causes problem
+ Which technology is used
+ How to fix it

When you press Done to finish each case, you can’t go back.

A demo of the TSHOOT Exam can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le10/tshoot_demo.html

Note:

+ In the new TSHOOTv2, you cannnot use the “Abort” button anymore. Therefore you cannot check the configuration of another ticket before completing the current ticket.

+ We have gathered many questions about TSHOOT exam and posted them at TSHOOT FAQs & Tips, surely you will find useful information about the TSHOOT exam there!

Below are the topologies of the real TSHOOT exam, you are allowed to study these topologies before taking the exam. It surely saves you some invaluable time when sitting in the exam room (Thanks rrg for sharing this).

So in the real exam, in each ticket can you go back and forth on each question before pressing done? Or do you have to press done on each question within the ticket?

Also, can someone answer @Alrighty then?

I am looking for that answer as well.

    I appreciate all feedback,

    Thank you

    In the real exam…
Only press done when you are certain with your answer…
once you press DONE, ticket will be closed and you cannot go back to the question on that ticket. but you can review the config of the devices….
after you click done, ticket button will turn red color which is again as i have said, not accessible anymore…
    No ABORT button…

Please read TSHOOT FAQ’s and tips….

    @Alrighty Then

On my exam this 10AM of Feb 5 2020, MCQs are from Nov.2019 only..

We are only allowed to choose the solution for the problem. We are not allowed to make any changes on the routers and switches. You cannot enter global configuration mode (config)# either. You have to answer three types of questions in each ticket:

+ Question 1: Which device causes problem
+ Question 2: Which technology is used
+ Question 3: How to fix it

you can go back and forth with these questions within the ticket unless you press DONE….
Done button will close the ticket, and you cannot access it anymore….

after you click done, you can click next to advance to another ticket or MCQ or simlet…

I hope this is informative to the one who asks….

Hi all, I passed today with 1000 points. Everything from Networktut, recommend 100% premium account.

    Sim: HSRP, BGP
    MCQ from November 13th.
Tickets, dont remenber all. But there were 10 of them.

Care with the IPV6 questions which are not remarked on the scenario as are here in netwrorktut.

PS: I paid one more month premum account. If anyone is interested, mail me to the {email not allowed}.

    Dear
i failed my exam today, i had following bug:
    Pings:
    Client 1 – 209.65.200.241 –> Failed
    ASW1 – 209.65.200.241 –> Failed
    DSW1 – 209.65.200.241 –> Passed

There was no VACL configured (i had this ticket before)
What is the Ticket Solution in this case? Or was it a bug?
    Regards

I have failed my exam today.

I have obtained 29% in the Layer2 Technologies part and 50% in the Layer 3 techologies part. In the rest 100%.

    – Could someone tell me what are the labs related to the sections specified by Layer2 Technologies and Layer2 Technologies?

On the other hand, in the BGP simlet, the configuration I saw was the following:

R1 # show ip bgp summary

    172.16.2.2 64550
    172.16.3.3 64550
    209.165.227.2 64525

Therefore the valid configuration would be the following:

    Router # configure terminal
    Router (config) #router bgp 64520
    Router (config-router) #neighbor IBGP remote-as 64520
    Router (config-router) #no neighbor 209.165.227.2 remote-as 64525
    Router (config-router) #neighbor 209.165.201.2 remote-as 64525

    – This would be the correct configuration, right?

On the other hand, I don’t let myself write or copy startup-config running-config!

    – Is this normal?

On the other hand, in several tickets I later realized that I was giving the next ticket when answering the 3 questions and not the done one.

    – Could I lose points for it?

I will greatly appreciate your answers to my questions.

    Thanks!

    Regards.

@blabla – assuming there’s not bug I would focus on NAT on R1, seems like 10.2.x.x is not in NAT ACL, while 10.1.x.x is (ping from DSW works)

@Solid Snake: Did you check the topology? I think the topolgy was the same but with new IP network.
After deploying the configuration please check the routing table and compare it with the screenshot in the question.
It must be the same. I have passed the exam yesterday. I had the same Ticket and i have used the new IP Network.

BGP SIM – Notice: Same Topology but different IP addresses (maybe 209.65.217.0)

    @Cocomelon
I am very agree with you. I didn’t get 1000 because of port security (I think). Two answers of four were:
    – … delete switchport port-security from fa0/1-2, shutdown and no shutdown fa0/1-2
    – … delete switchport port-security from fa0/1-2
I did not check the port statement and took … delete switchport port-security from fa0/1-2, shutdown and no shutdown fa0/1-2

I had a exam today (T-Shoot) I strongly believe that i have given the right answers to all the questions also I see the percentage of the marks are good but the bugs in the system failed me. I studied hard I could complete exam in 20 minutes it was a piece of cake but very disappointed with bug full simulation in exam. There is not new dates as all the test centers are fully booked and exam is changing on 23 Feb that means i will have to study new ccnp exam what a pain………..

I still remember Layer 2 ticket. on ASW1 port security is configured but i did check if the interface on ASW1 were down then i selected ASW1 and port security and if the interface were up in ASW1 the i selected DSW1 for wrong ip helper IP address.

    Please someone advise me.

    Network Principals 100 %
    Layer 2 Technologies 53%
    Layer 3 Technologies 100%
    VPN Technologies 100%
    Infrastructure Security 80%
    Infrastructure Services 100%

Passed test today with a score of 1k. No surprises, studying with the site material is easy.
I got the two SIM, all the questions and the TTs:
Ticket 14 – EIGRP Passive Interface
Ticket 11 – Redistribution Route-map (incorrect routemap name)
    Ticket 9 – Switchport trunk
    Ticket 1 – OSPF Authentication
    Ticket 15 – IPv6 GRE Tunnel
    Ticket 6 – VLAN filter
    Ticket 4 – NAT ACL
    Ticket 12 – IPv6 OSPF
    Ticket 13 – DHCP Helper-address
    Ticket 17 – Switchport Encapsulation

A few tips: in SIMS BGP there is no need to save, but before going ahead, do a “show ip bgp sum” to check that after the changes you have made, all three UP.
For IPv6 Tickets you can use pings (be careful to ping ipv6 xxxx :: xxxx not as in the site, just simply ping) or use R3 “show ipv6 ospf neighbor
if UP the neighborship with R2 and R4 -> redistubution problem on R4
if UP with R4 -> area problem on R2
if UP with R2 -> tunnel problem on R3

    thx for everything networktut

Had the exam last week. Altough I was 100% certain I had everything right I failed.
Somehow low score on the Layer 2 Technologies.
I had the same problem as others. I could see the port as err-disabled with “show port-sec” and I chose the answer ASW1->port-security violation.
Seems like this was not the right answer.
Next test monday, hope to not get the same ticket again.
    Everything is still in here.

I passed with 1000 yesterday… all questions from networktut. Thanks networktut.

MCQs all answers the same they just had some illustrations but as long as you know and understand the questions you should be fine.

For those having issues with the tickets this was my strategy that i used

Look at the ticket and if you see an IPv4 address go to the PC1

    PC1 – ipconfig
IF you do not see a gateway address then issue is with ASW1 or DSW1
IF you do see a gateway address and its not pingable again issue is with ASW1 or DSW1
IF GW address is pingable then ping R1 – 10.1.1.1
IF R1 is pingable issue is on R1…
If R1 is not pingable then ping R2 – 10.1.1.2
IF R2 is pingable again issue is on R1 – OSPF athentication between R1 and R2
IF both R1 and R2 is not pingable, then issue is on R4.

IF on the ticket the ip address is an IPv6 IP address then issue is either on R2, R3 or R4.

    February 5th, 2020

I heard my colleague lab tickets are 12 in Dec 2019 (total 26 ques).
And he said bgp sim’s IP address is the same in networktut.

    But I met 10 tickets(total 24 ques), and BGP sim’s IP address is 209.165.227.x.

old or new one differences maybe this point ?

  27. Awesome network engineer
    February 5th, 2020

@SHIN, it doesn’t matter which IP you have on exam, if you did “show ip bgp” and saw routes to right next-hope, you already resolved this SIM.
    @ ALL

As I understand after some checks, we have 2 main problems last weeks:
    1.New question (ipv6)
2.Some bug with dhcp and sec-ports
    Am I right?

  28. Solid Snake
    February 5th, 2020

    @Anonymous

What do you mean the topology is reviewed? What do you mean there is a new ip network?

The new bgp ip I’m sure it was 209.165.227.2 not 209.65.217.0

    @Hytch

I see that more people have failed in Layer 2 technologies, what could be happening?

  29. Solid Snake
    February 5th, 2020

    @Anonymous

Regarding your comment, you were talking only about the bgp sim, right?

  30. Anon
    February 5th, 2020

    Hi guys,
failed today, even with extensive studying of all tickets, MCQ, and simlets.

    layer 2 tech 53%
    Layer 3 tech 79%
    rest 100%.

I probably missed a question on the HSRP simlet, due to stress…
There were 3 tickets I may have missed on. I thought the IP-helper ticket came twice, as well as the HSRP track, but I reviewed them again now and the config were not identical.

I see several people with similar stories, lacking in layer 2 & 3 technology. Will retry in a week and take extra care to tickets suspecting to be IP-helper and HSRP track.
