Note: The last day to take this TSHOOT 300-135 exam is February 23, 2020. After this day you have to take new Enterprise exams to get new CCNP Enterprise certification. If you want to find out more about the new exams please visit here.

This article is devoted for candidates who took the TSHOOT exam to share their experience. Please tell us what are your materials, the way you learned, your feeling and experience after taking the TSHOOT v2.0 exam… But please DO NOT share any information about the detail of the exam or your personal information, your score, exam date and location, your email…

Your posts are warmly welcome!

Exam’s Structure:

+ Some Multiple choice & drag drop questions
+ 2 Simlets
+ 15 lab-sim Questions with the same network topology (15 troubleshooting tickets or you can call it one “big” question). Each lab-sim is called a ticket and you can solve them in any order you like.

Topics of the lab-sims:

1- IPv6
2- OSPF
3- OSPFv3
4- Frame Relay
5- GRE
6- EtherChannel
7- RIPng
8- EIGRP
9- Redistribution
10- NTP
11- NAT
12- BGP
13- HSRP
14- STP
15- DHCP

The problems are rather simple. For example wrong IP assignment, disable or enable a command, authentication…

In each tickets you will have to answer three types of questions:

+ Which device causes problem
+ Which technology is used
+ How to fix it

When you press Done to finish each case, you can’t go back.

A demo of the TSHOOT Exam can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le10/tshoot_demo.html

Note:

+ In the new TSHOOTv2, you cannnot use the “Abort” button anymore. Therefore you cannot check the configuration of another ticket before completing the current ticket.

+ We have gathered many questions about TSHOOT exam and posted them at TSHOOT FAQs & Tips, surely you will find useful information about the TSHOOT exam there!

Below are the topologies of the real TSHOOT exam, you are allowed to study these topologies before taking the exam. It surely saves you some invaluable time when sitting in the exam room (Thanks rrg for sharing this).

    Passed TSHOOT exam with 1000.
    BGP outcome over show ip bgp summary did not show all networks after configuration. How ever i got 1000 which means there is an error. Also the Tickets seems to be confusing if you follow theory coz there are alot of mistakes. e.g on the DHCP ticket under VLAN 10 (R4) there was passive interface configured(but i put in the ans as er DHCP). Hence there are errors on the tickets.

    BUT follow SAMS flow chart you wont go wrong.thats how i did it

    IPv6, ping from R1:
    ping 2026::1:2 KO? The problem is on R2
    ping 2026::34:2 KO? The problem is on R3
    ping 2026::34:2 OK? The problem is on R4

    This technique helped me knock out (KO) the last 3 tickets when time was short.

    Passed the test today 1000/1000. All MQC questions were from Nov. The BGP and HSRP scenarios came exactly like presented here.
    For the tickets, “ping” is the “king”, and “traceroute” is your best friend for isolation. Just take your time to read carefully and be prepared to think outside the box on the spot. Just like in real life it should be.

    does tracerooter wurk in the exam last i hear say no

    January 25th, 2020

    @AB That’s what I am thinking as well. When I tried to check the history of all the Tshoot’s MCQ’s it appears that they are actively changing the MCQ questions since Feb 2019 then got an update again after a month Mar 2019, April, June, August, Sept till they got this Nov 2019 update. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that they will not alter or update the MCQ’s before Feb 23, 2020.

    @SDS

    “ip nat outside Ser 0/0/1 on R1. This ticket puzzled me a lot since DSW1 can ping the server and all other routers, only AWS1 couldnt ping server, totally misled me into thinking something was wrong with DSW1 or AWS1 config. Eventually it was R1 with ip nat inside on the link to ISP ”

    Can you clarify a bit more – are you saying that this is an additional nat ticket and ip nat inside on ISP link ?

    That doesn’t sound right as link to ISP should have ip nat outside as public ip is configured on that interface

    am i missing something ?

    Hello All

    I will take TSHOOT soon and I am wondering on exam, does the configuration of the devices change with every new ticket? Or are all the misconfigurations present at all times. For example, will I see the NAT misconfig when checking for OSPF Authentication?

    Many thanks

  24. kalodio

    Also, I wonder if in the MC options for the “fix” to the problem try to trick you by giving you the answers to fixes for other tickets?

    @Kalodio

    every ticket will be separate meaning if nat misconfig is present then you wont find OSPF Authentication issue etc

  28. SDS
    January 25th, 2020

    @Destroyer
    It’s the same ip nat outside on S0/0/1 ticket but the DSW1 isnt supposed to ping the server, but on the exam it did and ASW1 didn’t ping the server. So it led me into thinking there was an issue with DSW1 or ASW1 and not suspect the R1 issue.

  29. Destroyer
    January 26th, 2020

    @SDS

    Thanks for the tip, I see what you mean – you got ip nat outside on both interfaces for R1 – nat is incorrect so pings shouldnt work but did in the exam from DSW1

  30. be careful with the tickets
    January 26th, 2020

    its tricky
