Your posts are warmly welcome!

Exam’s Structure:

+ Some Multiple choice & drag drop questions
+ 2 Simlets
+ 15 lab-sim Questions with the same network topology (15 troubleshooting tickets or you can call it one “big” question). Each lab-sim is called a ticket and you can solve them in any order you like.

Topics of the lab-sims:

1- IPv6
2- OSPF
3- OSPFv3
4- Frame Relay
5- GRE
6- EtherChannel
7- RIPng
8- EIGRP
9- Redistribution
10- NTP
11- NAT
12- BGP
13- HSRP
14- STP
15- DHCP

The problems are rather simple. For example wrong IP assignment, disable or enable a command, authentication…

In each tickets you will have to answer three types of questions:

+ Which device causes problem
+ Which technology is used
+ How to fix it

When you press Done to finish each case, you can’t go back.

A demo of the TSHOOT Exam can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le10/tshoot_demo.html

Note:

+ In the new TSHOOTv2, you cannnot use the “Abort” button anymore. Therefore you cannot check the configuration of another ticket before completing the current ticket.

+ We have gathered many questions about TSHOOT exam and posted them at TSHOOT FAQs & Tips, surely you will find useful information about the TSHOOT exam there!

Below are the topologies of the real TSHOOT exam, you are allowed to study these topologies before taking the exam. It surely saves you some invaluable time when sitting in the exam room (Thanks rrg for sharing this).

    Hello all,

    I want to ask the people who PASSed the exam if the ping is working well on all tickets like the simulator here. Can you tell us, please?

    EIGRP is being used as the routing protocol on the Company network. While troubleshooting some network connectivity issues, you notice a large number of EIGRP SIA (Stuck in Active) messages. What causes these SIA routes? (Select two)

    A. The neighboring router stops receiving ACK packets from this router.
    B. The neighboring router starts receiving route updates from this router.
    C. The neighboring router is too busy to answer the query (generally caused by high CPU utilization).
    D. The neighboring router is having memory problems and cannot allocate the memory to process the query or build the reply packet.

    I would say C&D….

    @pique

    Ping work only in ipv4 for me, didn’t work in ipv6 tickets

    Ping works on both IPv4 and IPv6 tickets. You need a US keyboard for the colons (:) to work, so if you’re a non-native English speaker you have to ask to switch the layout.

    Hi,

    Can anyone help with the answer for the following in HSRP Sim.

    Examine the configuration on R5. Router R5 do not see any route entries learned from R4; what could be the issue?
    A. HSRP issue between R5 and R4
    B. There is an OSPF issue between R5 and R4
    C. There is a DHCP issue between R5 and R4
    D. The distribute-list configured on R5 is blocking route entries
    E. The ACL configured on R5 is blocking traffic for the subnets advertised from R4.

    Some places I found the answer is, B
    and some places it’s mentioned the answer is C.

    Please advise.

    A lack of system resources—such as CPU, memory, or buffers—can also prevent a router from replying to queries or from processing packets of any type.

    I would say C&D….U R right seri

    nov-19 is confirmed-verified- i would have failed if they were not 100%-yes i did not realize that switches have to be in the same VTP domain in order for DTP to negotiate either lol

    Guys, how does the traceroute command work in real exam? I know that it can only be entered on DSW1, but could only this command be used or is it needed also a source interface?

  22. Pique
    January 22nd, 2020

    @Burìk

    Can you ping the correct devices in the EXAM like here on simulators or there are bugs?

  23. Burìk
    January 22nd, 2020

    @NCR

    It’s C. The answers for the HSRP sim are “TADD”. That is, in this exact order:

    1. the one mentioning TRACK issues
    2. the one mentioning ACL issues
    3. the one mentioning DISTRIBUTE lists issues
    4. the one mentioning DHCP issues

    @Pique

    You can ping whatever you want, you don’t even have to specify “ipv6” in the command line, a simple “ping 2026::34:2” will work.

    @Hario , to be honest I am not afraid from the MCQ even if they change them till my exam. Still I am sure I will make at least 50% form them, which is not the tie breaker on the exam I believe.

    @TO, first congrats mate! I and thank you for your rich post, really helpful! I wish they were less trolls and more ‘real’ people like you here!

  26. TO
    January 22nd, 2020

    @Bob – yeah, thats not happening! lol I’ll take the new CCIE in about a year and a half.

    @kopi – thank you! I hope it helps people searching for answers.

  27. Burìk
    January 22nd, 2020

    The answers in the free PDF are 100% valid, you just have to pay attention to the exact answer. For instance, in the exam question 7 has several choices mentioning port 22, but only one with the 60 sequence number, which is the correct answer.

  28. Hario
    January 22nd, 2020

    @TO
    Congrats!, As I mentioned before, we must STUDY the concepts because the tickets could have “tricks” in the alternatives, for me the tickets was easy because I study of the book and study the topology (I implemented a GNS3 and have the PT of the tickets) – Own Strategy, for that reason you can get 1000 points. The ticket of DHCP-Helper was easy (I don’t understand because many people make a mess with the “port-security”) you can use “show” commands, if you can’t use one command, you use another, simple.

    @kopi
    Never underestimate the exam, even the MCQs, D&D, some questions would be very difficult if you did not have the Nov2019 PDF. Remember you are paying 300 dolars and some people doesn’t have much money

  29. @TO
    January 22nd, 2020

    @TO
    Well done, dude :) and thanks for sharing your exp.
    Regarding tickets 7 and 13, I would advice everyone to follow the SAM workflow.
    Here is the part that deals with those tickets:

    When C1 CNANOT ping DSW1 (10.2.1.1), then:
    Look at DSW1 to the dhcp helper-address and verify if it matches the one at R4
    If it doesn’t match, then its the helper-address ticket.
    If it does match, then its the port security at ASW1.
